Poo Klon Country Club is only 10 kilometers far from downtown. Take highway number 1095 (Mae Hong Son – Pai), turn left to Kong Mai Sak-Baan Huai Nakan village and drive along the road for about 4 kilometers. After facing a lot of curves, notice a sign on your right hand side; unless you drive from Pang Aung in which Poo Klon will be on your left side.
Stepping into our destination, we were welcomed by cool pleasant atmosphere, but what impressed us most is the service pricelist signage informing surprising low prices. The services that we would like to recommend are Facial Mud Mask, Body Mud Mask, and Traditional Thai Massage.
For time efficiency, we suggest that you have a facial mud mask first before a body massage (This is the shortest course taking only 1 hour). First, you need to clean up your face with facial foam. Then, a staff will start masking your face about 2 minutes and leave it dry for 20-30 minutes. While waiting for the mud to dry, we can go for a body massage. The rate is 200 baht/hour and 100 baht/half an hour. You may switch to foot massage service at the same rate.
The face massage room is separated from the body massage room. All rooms are spacious and airy. This place doesn’t need air-conditioning, since the weather here is quite cool along the year. Imagine yourself lying on the mattress with cool breeze blowing through windows, receiving comfortable massage from a well-trained masseur. Sound wonderful, isn’t it?
By the time you finish body massage, it will be perfect time to clear the mud from your faces. This place also provides mineral water for customers to add up some moisture on his/her face. From our direct experience, after our faces were cleaned, we could feel that our cheeks became much softer. Wow!! We loved it.

The Discovery and History of Poo Klon
- In 1995, a healthy mud source was discovered at Pong Duod Mae Sa-Nga or the present name Poo Klon by a group of French and Thai geological researchers who went sightseeing in Mae Hong Son, Thailand.
- A stream of hot mineral water was found rising in the middle of rice field flowing into a small creek. Many people recovered from illness and pain when soaked in the warm water in the creek.
- In 1996, the mud from the hot spring was sampled and proved in a mineral laboratory at Themalium Luxeuil Laboratorie in France. It took 4 years to analyze and find out the useful minerals and natural substances contained.
- In 1999, the results from the laboratory showed that the mineral contents of the mud are good for skin and blood circulation. The minerals found are similar to those found in the mud from Dead Sea and volcano lava. Being rare minerals, they can be found only in a few places on earth.
- Started an inspection with satellite technology, heavy machineries and ground operation from Australia.
